OCTOBER 1978
31 october: death eaters attack diagon alley during a ministry hosted halloween event. the order respond quickly. many lives are lost.
NOVEMBER 1978
1 november: the ministry imposes a curfew for the safety of citizens.
13 november: the ministry and gringott's hold a special charity gala for relief towards diagon alley. horrace rutherford, a muggle-born wizard in the department of magical cooperation, is found murdered during the event. the perpetrator is not found.
DECEMBER 1978
1 december: rival fans of the montrose magpies and wimbourne wasps are involved in a brawl after a fight between pure-blood magpies chaser westley villads and muggle-born fan favourite and wasp's star chaser blake alden. both players are given a four month ban from the sport by the dmgs. injured fans are taken to st mungos for treatment.
3-23 december: the ministry holds its annual yuletide festival in diagon alley and hogsmeade with a variety of activities, events and celebrations in the lead up to christmas. there is a noticeable dmle presence through out.
10 december: muggle-born quidditch hero blake alden is attacked in diagon alley.
14 december: the dmle hold a press conference and reveal they have been working on a case involving a mass killing of muggles in penrith where the dark mark was seen.
16-24 december: there is a nationwide hunt for missing hogwarts second year student jessica peasegood. she is found alive although it is evident she has been tortured. she implicates a dmle hit wizard.
29 december: the dmle carry out raids on three suspected death eater addresses for the kidnap of jessica peasegood.
31 december: new year's eve celebrations in diagon alley are the focus of a mass death eater attack. the ministry and the order are on hand to protect citizens. despite their efforts, the brutal nature of the attacks leaves fourteen deceased and over fifty civilians injured.
JANUARY 1979
12 january: three confirmed death eaters are arrested, trialled and imprisoned. after an attack on the wizengamot, members are given enchanced security.
18 january: an activist group calling itself stop hate releases an official statement of their aims.
23 january: the dmle fails to respond to a death eater attack on tinworth, however the order of the phoenix and the rebels save the day.
27 january: a controversial new store called muggle wonders opens in diagon alley.
31 january: a lone giant attacks the village of todden in scotland.
FEBRUARY 1979
1st february: The dmle confirm the attack on a scottish village as the result of a lone, rogue giant. dmle, ministry workers and healers are dispatched to torridon to locate the giant and aid the villagers in recovery.
3rd february: Death Eaters meet with Voldemort (fall out from Tinworth and arrests, discuss your rescue plans and impress him). Order members meet with Dumbledore and Hagrid (celebration of successes, but also serious biz about missions, training, giants, dementors etc).
5th february: week 23 matches continued today. trouble flared at the fixture between the falmouth falcons and holyhead harpies. anti-muggleborn literature and banners were passed among falcons fans. the match ended on a tie, but four falcons fans were arrested by dmle for assaulting a harpies fan who was taken to st mungos with "serious injuries". other fans reported hearing anti-muggleborn abuse hurled at the harpies fan before she was attacked. with the after match press conference focused solely on this issue, falcon's captain amer shafiq and teammates make a statement strongly reminding their fans they will not tolerate any violence at their matches nor the spreading of or use of anti-muggleborn propaganda or protest.
6th february-14th: Get ready for love! Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade hold special offers and events in the lead up to the big day!
6th february: following events at yesterday's quidditch match, vocal critic of the minister and controversial purist wizengamot millard poole who has built up a reputation and a large following over decades for favoring pure-bloods and supporting the documentation and segregation of muggleborns, today admonishes england captain amer shafiq, the falcons team and their management. he states the comments they made yesterday at the press conference were proof they should stick to the only thing they're worthy of commenting on, quidditch, and too many bludgers to the head has clearly affected falcon's captain shafiq from the ability to make any sensible contributions on the discussion surrounding the ongoing demise of wizarding society and the economic struggles of many pure-blood families and businesses. purist protesters gather outside the falcons training grounds and there are calls for shafiq to be fired as captain of the falcons and captain of the england team. the british and irish quidditch association release a statement giving their full support to shafiq. the harpies fan remains in critical condition at st mungos.
7th february: Celestina Warbeck releases her new album just in time for Valentine's.
8th february: Flourish and Blotts host Professor Quentin Trimble, author of the now best selling book 'The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self Protection'. It's announced the book will become the official resource for DADA students at Hogwarts.
9th february: Ahead of the week 24 quidditch fixtures, Amer Shafiq speaks out about harassment and threats his muggleborn players have received and he himself has been the subject of since the incident during their week 23 fixture. Activist group Stop Hate commend him and call on other public figures to also speak out.
10th february: A Tinworth relief effort is hosted by Muggle Wonders during the day with special offers and items you can purchase from businesses in Tinworth. There will also be an opportunity to sign up and support a specific business either financially, through investment, or other means agreed with the owners. Live music and special guest stars will lead further fund raising activities later in the evening at The Gateway.
14th february: Uh oh! Love potion prank fiasco! Blake Alden and actress girlfriend Shelina Khan announce their engagement.
16th february: An escaped dragon from Gringotts attacks muggle London! Newt Scamander has been in the country delivering workshops with the Magizoologist Society and is called on to help.
17th february: An undercover auror at Scotland Yard notifies the DMLE of a string of suspicious apparent suicides in muggle London.
21st february: An undercover auror at Scotland Yard notifies the DMLE of a series of disappearances of homeless muggles.
24th february: Wizengamot purist speaks out against the Minister and criticizes Muggle Wonder's owners, reinforcing views that muggleborns are the reason why purist businesses and wizarding heritage is suffering.
25th february: Twin toddlers are reported missing in Nottingham.
