FIRST RISE: 1979
AN AU MARAUDER'S ERA RP
FIRST RISE is a plot-driven, and thread heavy harry potter rp much like the others, but with a slight twist: it is set during the first war, between the order of the phoenix and the death eaters. the year is 1979, at the height of voldemort's power. witches and wizards turning against their best friends, against their families, brother against brother. no longer do the people of the wizarding world trust simple strangers on the street. it is thought to be one of the darkest times in the history of the wizarding world. which side will your character choose? in addition to being in the marauder's era timeline, we are also allowing canon characters to be played, as well!
upcoming dates:20th march: violence against muggleborns begins to rise. muggleborns are openly harassed or attacked, some shops in knockturn alley and diagon alley refuse to serve them for fear of backlash from the purists.
23rd march: a new, strict marriage law is put into fruition: muggleborn and halfblood couples will be forcibly divorced or sent to azkaban for refusing to comply, while pure couples are pushed/encouraged to marry.
26th march: an anti-purist wizard who works for the daily prophet speaks out against these changes in an opinion article, and is found dead at his home that night. daily prophet highly criticized by the minister of magic.
