History:
Evelyn was born two minutes after her twin brother, Elliot. immediately, the twins were brought into the Wizarding world and their home with a warm, loving family. From an early age, Evelyn was taught by her mother what would stick strong, her entire life. Blood purity was something adamantly ingrained into her mind, so much so that she grew up from the earliest memory thinking it was right. Evelyn's oldest memories are a blur to her. She isn't sure what memories with her father Galahad Demarche are real or fabricated by wishful thinking and dreams, as he died when the twins were still very young. Egalantine would tell them that it was due to traveling from England to France by broom, where he fell and drowned in the English channel, but what the twins don't know is that their mother actually had a hand in murdering him.
Despite the darkness, Evelyn seemed to move on quickly, at least for some time. Perhaps it was because she was too young at the time, but Galahad's death never truly affected her until she was older. When Egalantine married Benito, Evelyn was still young but not entirely too young to hate him and act particularly like a spoiled brat just out of spite for the fact that Benito wasn't really her father, and never would be. When Benito died, Evelyn was 12 and despite the years spent with him, Evelyn had still never adjusted to him and when he died it still felt like something was being taken away.
It had taken some time to adjust to Benito being gone, and it took even more time to adjust to how easily Egalantine seemed to move on after Benito's death. It had seemed like her mother loved him, or was fond of him. Their marriage seemed to say it all, but after he died, Egalantine had moved on as if it were nothing and in what seemed like no time at all (roughly a few years), there was another new boyfriend in the picture. This time, it was a Russian man by the name of Stellan.
As preparations to marry Stellan were put into fruition, life seemed to pick up and move more quickly. While there were talks of the Wizarding world growing darker, Evelyn progressed through Hogwarts. Though she had decent marks, Evelyn knew what awaited her in the future. She was a pureblood witch, from a Sacred 28 family (on her mother's side), and as such this meant she would marry someone else who was of equally as pureblood, and live her life in luxurious wealth.
This however, couldn't be more wrong. Evelyn thought she had it made: she would marry her then boyfriend, who in his own right was also from a Sacred 28 name, in pure-blooded harmony, but it seemed Damian had other plans. It had come rather out of nowhere, when he told her he wanted to split so he could focus on professional Quidditch. So say Evelyn was devastated by the break up would be an understatement. Evelyn had been absolutely mad about him, and the thought of splitting from him was crushing.
Elliot announced that he wanted to become an auror, and had passed his tests and training and became just that, Egalantine had been less than thrilled. Evelyn could already see that she thought Elliot was a traitor. It had hurt to hear, and still does to this day. Despite all of that, Evelyn tried her best to see Elliot when she could but the words of her mother and her peers were strong in her mind, and so Evelyn began taking measures to distance herself for fear of also looking like a traitor.
It was like everything bad was happening in just one year, and somehow Egalantine had her fingers pulling the strings in every situation. Elias was convicted for the murder of Stellan, and sent to Azkaban. This had practically shattered any lasting connections within their family. At the same time, Evelyn conceded to an engagement with William Yaxley that she didn't want. He was handsome, and incredibly charming and wealthy, but he wasn't Damian.
Losing Elias to Azkaban had done something to Evelyn for the worst. For the time following, Evelyn was practically not herself. She soaked up the socialite lifestyle, married William, became associated with Death Eaters, and became completely intertwined in the luxurious life style which came along with being a pureblood socialite and wife.
As time progressed, life brought in a few silver linings here and there. The marriage with William turned out better than Evelyn had first expected. After years together, Evelyn had found herself growing fond of William, and eventually, she couldn't help but fall in love with him, too. They had tried, and are still trying, to conceive, but it hasn't been easy. Evelyn has so far, had two miscarriages. It has slowly been putting a strain on their relationship, but they both know how important it is to remain strong together
